Simple is the hardestthing to build.

I'm Quang Dang, a product-minded tech lead. For 15+ years I've built software, 10 of them in SaaS. Available for teams in Australia, Europe and Vietnam.

What I leave out

Most of the work is deciding what to leave out. A few decisions from products I've led: switch between what was there and what shipped.

  • A separate screen for every contact's notifications

One sheet, opened from the contact, closed with a tap

  • "New monthly run"

    "New monthly invoices"

  • Pay again while the first charge is still being checked

One payment at a time, until the bank confirms

  • Patch the old app for one more year

Build the new app alongside it, switch in one release

About

Quang Dang standing in a garden, hands in pockets

I've spent the last ten years building SaaS products for racing, education and printing businesses, leading small engineering teams through releases, payments, mobile apps and design systems.

I use AI the way I'd work with a new teammate: useful every day, always reviewed, never left alone with the decision.

  • Leave things out

Every screen, field and setting costs the person using it.

  • Use your users' words

If they say "monthly invoices", so does the product.

  • Be careful with money

Payments that can't charge twice. Upgrades users never notice.

  • AI, with guardrails

One model writes, another reviews, a person decides.
